Woven Stories
"WOVEN STORIES"is a collection that showcases the work of LAFAYETTE 148's in-house's textile designer Atelier inspired by centuries of artistry. By stripping the garments back to their source - the fabric, yarns and materials themselves - the elements which are often considered ‘hidden details’ become the celebrated focal point of the season. Expressed through jacquards, exposed seams, exaggerated fringing, stitched embellishments and the transformation of deadstock fabrics into exquisite new textural compositions, the Fall 2025 collection reimagines this fusion of textiles and embroidery, while highlighting the House’s expertise in textiles, fabric development and the atelier’s commitment to hand craftsmanship.
“Art practices often inspire our collections, and this season, we focused on a craft deeply woven into Lafayette 148’s history: textile design. While our research began with traditional tapestry and female textile artists like Anni Albers, we ultimately turned to the talents of the women in our own New York atelier.
Each collection begins with months of fabric development in collaboration with the finest Italian mills, with prints always created by hand—never digitally. It’s the ‘imperfect’ moments of true artistry that shape how garments look, feel, and move. Fall 2025 celebrates this craftsmanship, weaving the rich tactility of textile art with the sculptural simplicity of our understated design philosophy.”
